About The School

Rajmata Gayatri Devi of Jaipur

Founder, Chairperson of the Governing Body

Maharaja Sawai Man Singh Vidyalaya ( MSMSV ) is the articulation of Her Highness, the Rajmata Gayatri Devi's initiative and firm conviction that there is no alternative to good education which is undoubtedly the first imperative for nation building. MSMSV was organised in 1984 by the Sawai Ram Singh Shilp Kala Mandir Society, a trust set up by the late His highness Maharaja Sawai Man Singh, a visionary of all times.

MSMSV is a conscious and thoughtful response to a critical need for an excellent and relevant education in a traditional innovative and creative framework. The endeavour is to impart modern education that is a synthesis of ancient wisdom and culture of our country with contemporary scientific and technological advancement along "Guru-Shishya" lines.

It is an English Medium Co-education Senior Secondary School affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. The school provides complete scheme of education for boys and girls between the age group of 3.5 yrs to 17.5 yrs.

Under the Chairpersonship of her Highness the Rajmata Gayatri Devi of Jaipur. The dedicated Management Committee of MSMSV and the staff has succeeded in elevating the Vidyalaya to its present position of pre-eminence. During her tenure (1984-1995) the Founder Principal Mrs. P. N. Kavoori steered the institution through its infancy on the foundation of following aims by adopting four cardinal approaches.

The legacy of the school is now carried very efficiently and beautifully by our current Principal Mrs Neera Mathur. She has been instrumental in growing the stature of the school and is a lady of great conviction and vision.

1. Atma Buddhi a fundamental philosophy that aims at a true and effective educational outlook and discipline of understanding oneself.

2. Creation if Community Awareness that makes each student realise that he is part of an environment which enriched him and he in turn enriches him and he in turn enriches it through a planned inter-play.

3. Provide Value Basis for every activity of the Vidyalaya.

4. Build in to every possible endeavour a spirit and substance of Innovation. The application of the new information technology to the curriculum is one such step.

The Vidyalaya is an ongoing community of children and adults. Whether the staff specialize in teaching at junior or senior level, we pride ourselves on being a cohesive group who share in large measure our fundamental aims.

Equality between the sexes:

Boys and Girls are able to grow-up together securely and on an equal basis.

A child centered approach to learning:

We make a concentrated effort to provide a warm and loving environment where children are encouraged and praised often. All learning experience is introduced carefully at an age-appropriate level. To ensure the total development of children, there is particular emphasis on experimental learning.

In the TRC, teacher preparation is enhanced through sharing classroom experiences, preparing teaching aids, developing an integrated approach through regular interaction in the specified periods for qualitative improvement in school education.

There is a wide collection of books and educational magazines in the TRC for reference. The TRC is open to the teachers of all other schools as well. Such an interaction is always refreshing.

Pre Primary Section: Balvatika

Balvatika is occupying the most attractive part of the campus. The ambience of the area is set in the surroundings of green trees, lush lawns and the class rooms are housed in hut like structures. The colourful play equipment and a pet corner add to the delight of every child.

Here children are given every opportunity to develop towards their full potential. This happens by encouraging each child's natural urge to explore and absorb impressions from a rich and stimulating environment which is provided through natural surroundings and the contrived situations and activities in an innovative approach.

We believe that learning is his/her adventure in spirit. Life is to be directly experienced, enjoyed and loved, concepts to be discovered, assimilated and internalised, thus leading to positively attitude towards life.

Early childhood years are a period of rapid physical and mental growth. It is widely recognized that the experiences of this period will cover his/her whole approach to learning throughout life. Thus, we follow a development oriented and child centered approach with emphasis on child's active interaction with the environment and development of concepts and attitudes. Reading, writing figures and facts follow in the natural rhythm of things.

The activities of children are integrated with art, music, dance and design towards indoor and outdoor experiences. Indoor activities aim to give a variety of experiences in which they can explore and experiment with a sense of curiosity. Outside, children are free to explore most of the surrounding land which provide for varied play on climbing frames, a sand pit, a tunnel and water play.

With an ideal teacher taught ratio there is time for necessary one to one attention.

We consider constant communications with parents very important.

The span of Balvatika is 2 Years.

First Year: Introductory for 3.5 to 4.5 years old.

Second Year: Preparatory for 4.5 to 5.5 years.
